Baker Butcher Doctor Diplomat is an exquisite museum-quality book written by London-based author Selma Carvalho. It is an illustrated history tracing the lives of Goan pioneers in Zanzibar, Mombasa and Nairobi, covering roughly the period 1860 – 1920. The design is contemporary but it also has an old-world feel, giving us a slice of the life in those times. Almost all images in the book are sepia-tinged using brown and beige colours, and the font used is a classic one.
